Intentions for a New Year!

This year I have rather simple and basic intentions: The new issue of the McKinsey quarterly gave me some ideas to transform my rather generic intentions into a more concrete and, more important, operational actionals.

McKinsey identifies 8 business technology trends to watch. For me 3 trends are very interesting:

  1. Extracting more value from interaction;
  2. Making business from information;
  3. Expanding the frontiers of automation.

I read this as follows. The points of interaction in business processes have so far got less attention of management. This is due to question of
responsibility. On the moment of interaction 2 people are responsible, which makes a process less manageable. When an organization could manage the interaction better in a both pragmatic and practical way it could benefit enormously,. The other 2 trends make this clear: It gives access to information which is currently out of reach, and the way to do is by expanding the automation.

In my blog on information governance and a business case for information governance I go deeper into to the subject of interaction.

Is there an example of such a solution available? I think there is: Look at the 'MyInformationVault' solution of Results2Match! This solution facilitates the interaction by transforming a more traditional pull process into a push process, while making legacy information available for easy distribution through Internet!

Is this a sharper New Year intention, or what?
